Signed, titled and dated by the photographer in ink on the verso, mounted in original ornamental mat, titled and dated by the photographer in ink below the image on inside of mat, also signed by the photographer below the image on outside of mat.

In very good condition with subtle yet strong colors.

Breitenbach was a self-taught photographer and began specializing in the medium in the early 1930s. He opened his own studio in Munich in 1932, focusing on press and studio photography. In 1933 Breitenbach was forced to emigrate to Paris where he lived and worked as a photographer until 1941 when he emigrated once again, this time to New York. In New York he opened his third studio, working as a photographer until his death in 1984. – Light crease in lower right corner, otherwise a rich tonal print in near excellent condition.
